Release Notes - July 2024

New Functionality & Enhancements

  • You can now create Acclaim Projects Project Templates from an Accolade Project

Acclaim Projects now has the ability to build out detailed project templates based off Accolade stage-gate model projects, without interrupting the integrated Accolade project.

To do this, open the integrated Accolade project on Acclaim Projects, click on Actions > Project Actions, and select Create template from this project. The project template creation form displays, and you can build this template as any other in Acclaim Projects, adding WBS items, assignments, dependencies, dates, etc. To utilize this template once created, open or create a project in Acclaim Projects, click on Actions > Project Actions, and select Apply template to project.

Note:  Accolade is an optional component that you may not have access to. To implement this solution, contact Sopheon Customer Support.

  • Acclaim Projects now allows for Inter-project Dependencies

You can now set up dependencies between tasks from different projects, allowing users to select a task from a separate project as a predecessor for your task. To do this, when editing dependencies from either the WBS grid or your Task Editor, ensure that the Allow Interproject Dependencies toggle is turned on, and then select the project and task you wish to set as a predecessor.

  • You can now define Personas, and customize which project tabs display on the Project Editor for each Persona

In this release, Acclaim Projects introduces a new group type called Personas, that allows administrators to group users and indicate which tabs each Persona can view in the Online Project Editor.

To do this, go to Administer > Groups, click on Add New Group, create a group with the type set to Persona, assign users, and then deselect which Project Editor tabs must be hidden for them.

  • Acclaim Projects now allows Project Managers to shift Project Dates, as required

Previously, if a project date needed to be changed, or if a template was applied to a project, your project dates had to be manually corrected. With this release, Acclaim Projects introduces new functionality that allows Project Managers to shift their project dates with one button.

To do this, open your project, and click on Actions > Project Actions, and select Shift Project Dates. The Shift Project Dates dialog displays the current Planned Start Date for the earliest task, if that task is not dependent on another task in a different project. You can then select your new Planned Start Date in the date widget. Doing this shifts all the dates in the project, that are not controlled by other predecessors, by the number of days you've pushed the earliest task by.

Note:  You cannot utilize this function if the earliest task has an external predecessor.

  • You can now add Custom Attributes to Change Requests

With this release of Acclaim Projects, authorized users can create Custom Attributes that can be attached to Change Requests.

To utilize this functionality, a user with the appropriate rights to edit Custom Attributes must go to Administer > Custom Attributes, and create a new custom attribute, ensuring that the option Change Request is selected from the Applies To drop-down list. Once created, when creating a Change Request, the new Attributes tab is displayed with your new custom attributes.
