Planning Projects with Accolade Projects

Once your project has been approved by a PMO, it’s time to proceed with planning your project in detail. Accolade Projects allows you to define your project’s milestones, phases, and tasks, and assign resources, either members of your team or external resources, to individual tasks.

Accolade Projects’ Project Planning module provides three methods by which to map the objectives of an approved project to a planning blueprint with actionable tasks, the resources to execute those tasks, and a schedule driven by stakeholder deadlines and vetted effort estimates.

Those three methods are:

1. The Online Project Editor

   The Accolade Projects Online Project Editor contains all the tools required to develop your project plan online, including views and diagnostic tools to review project performance, and to make updates as required.

   

2. Excel Templates

   If you require to build a project plan offline, Accolade Projects provides Excel templates that you may use. By using an Excel template, you can build your project plan in Excel and upload it back into Accolade Projects. This is particularly useful for adding actuals when in-flight projects are loaded into Accolade Projects.

   

3. Project Templates

   Project Templates are an easier way to create project plans within Accolade Projects, that enforce standards within your project plans. These templates allow you to get started more efficiently by providing a set structure of phases, tasks, soft resources, and details.
